Memphis Grizzlies Trade Candidate No. 2: Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are another team that would hugely benefit from the presence of Kyle Anderson but may struggle to fit him onto their roster financially. In fact, Beale Street Bears very own Jacob Ellerbee included the Warriors in a trade hypothetical involving three teams.

And that’s exactly what would have to happen if the Grizzlies wanted to make a deal with the Warriors — a complex trade.

Still, unlike the Lakers, Golden State has a decent amount of trade capital. They have all of their first-round picks outside of 2024 and more than a handful of second-rounders.

Much like Memphis though, the Warriors have a handful of long-term upside wing players who may not be able to provide the immediate impact that Golden State needs. This includes players like Moses Moody, Jordan Poole, Gary Payton II, Damian Lee, Mychal Mulder, and Juan Toscano-Anderson. A few of these players are on expiring contracts and could be sent over to Memphis for the sole purpose of making a deal work.

Still, this may be counterintuitive for Memphis, which is why a deal with the Warriors may have to include a third team with more roster space than the Grizz. If that third team were to become involved, however, Memphis may be able to ship off Kyle Anderson and a pair of reserve players in exchange for future draft picks.
