With the offseason waning, we begin to look at the 2021-2022 season and some of the exciting lineups the Memphis Grizzlies are expected to use.
Even though the team is not done making alterations to the roster, the starting lineup for the Memphis Grizzlies is expected to remain largely the same.
One expected change from the Memphis Grizzlies is the insertion of Steven Adams into the starting line-up.
As of this writing, the team will need to trim some players from the roster before opening night—three to be exact. None of the players the team could part with are expected to be players who would contribute to the team in any significant way, according to Drew Hill, the Memphis Grizzlies beat writer for the Daily Memphian.
According to a recent story from Hill, the players the Memphis Grizzlies are likely considering parting ways with are: Rajon Rondo, Juancho Hernangomez, Sam Merrill, Jarrett Culver, and Daniel Oturu.
Of these players, Hill notes that Culver is the most likely to stay and Rondo will most likely not be on the roster come opening night.
Going into next season and barring any significant trade, the starting lineup for the Memphis Grizzlies will likely be: Ja Morant, Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Steven Adams.
We know what most of these guys can do together, we’ve seen them play a lot of meaningful minutes together the past few seasons. It will be interesting to see the effect Adams will have on the team’s defense, but that’s way down the list in terms of the excitement factor.
How will Coach Taylor Jenkins use newcomer Jarrett Culver and rookies Ziaire Williams and Santi Aldama? What lineup of Memphis Grizzlies players is most likely to produce highlight-worthy plays?
Excluding the starting five, these are the most exciting lineup combinations that fans will be looking forward to next season.
