The Garbage Time Team: Jarrett Culver, Ziaire Williams, Yves Pons, Killian Tillie, Santi Aldama

This is the show-me-what-you-got group of players that would only be on the court together in garbage time if the Memphis Grizzlies are up 20 points or down 20 points with a few minutes left in the game.

The Memphis Grizzlies could use this lineup of players to get a snapshot of their ability to produce during an NBA game.

Baring an injury or major trade, most of these players will not see meaningful minutes at all during the season. So these end-of-game situations will likely be some of the only times we see them on the court in an NBA game.

From this lineup, Williams has the best shot at getting minutes with Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson, Jr., followed by Santi Aldama and Jarrett Culver.

For Aldama, there are few game scenarios in which he will be called upon to contribute. Based on what we saw in Summer League, he seems like a player that is several years away from being able to help an NBA team. Which is fine, the Memphis Grizzlies drafted Aldama for his potential, not what he can do from day one on an NBA court.

Culver is entering just his third season in the NBA and is still considered to be raw and working on his game. Culver was drafted 6th overall in the 2019 NBA draft, just a few picks behind Ja Morant (2nd overall in 2019). Culver was also named Second Team All-American during his 2018-2019 sophomore season at Texas Tech.
