Will the Memphis Grizzlies trade Tyus Jones to one of these 3 teams?
The Memphis Grizzlies could look to trade for another high-ceiling guard and a veteran bench player.
This two-team trade with the Orlando Magic would allow the Memphis Grizzlies to swap out Tyus Jones and Brandon Clarke for Terrence Ross and RJ Hampton.
The Memphis Grizzlies would be getting the once-highly touted prospect out of the National Basketball League in Australia. At just 20 years old, Hampton is a long-term project that is still learning his way around the NBA. Hampton averaged 6.9 ppg, 3.5 rpg, and 1.7 apg in his rookie campaign that was split between the Denver Nuggets and Orlando Magic.
The Grizzlies would be getting a veteran presence in Ross, who has proven he can get buckets when called upon. Ross has two seasons left on his deal and would be an ideal candidate to repackage at the trade deadline to a playoff-bound team looking for additional firepower.
In order to acquire this high-ceiling prospect, the Memphis Grizzlies would need to part with Brandon Clarke, who goes to Orlando along with Tyus Jones. The expiring contract of Jones ($8.3 million) would fall off the books after the season when he becomes a free agent.
