The Minnesota Timberwolves could be a sneaky rival for the Memphis Grizzlies

The Minnesota Timberwolves have made it to the NBA playoffs only once in the past 18 seasons. Like the Kings in Sacramento, things are starting to feel different for the franchise.

The Wolves have made some moves to bring in D’Angelo Russell via trade and drafted star-in-the-making Anthony Edwards in recent seasons. Those two players combined with Karl-Anthony Towns make a formidable “Big 3” in the Twin Cities.

The biggest challenge for the Wolves will be learning how to persevere through the ups and downs of an NBA season. Don’t get too low when you’re losing and don’t get too high when you’re on a winning streak.

Perhaps the recent addition of Patrick Beverly will help steady those emotions during the long NBA season. Beverly is an incredibly motivating teammate with unparalleled tenacity. If anyone can help lead that team, it’s him.

The Memphis Grizzlies traded Beverly to the Wolves this offseason and netted former 2019 first-round pick, Jarrett Culver, in the deal.

If Minnesota can put all the pieces together and stay healthy, they’ll be able to compete for one of the spots in the Play-In Tournament.
