A return to the NBA Play-In would be a big accomplishment for the Memphis Grizzlies in 2021-22

If the Grizzlies can find a way to remain competitive and reach their third-straight appearance in the NBA Play-in tournament, it will be a successful season.

No one is expecting the Memphis Grizzlies to get back to the playoffs and win a series next season. The team wants to see incremental growth from stars Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson, Jr.

Jonas Valanciunas was traded during the offseason, creating a big point and rebounding hole in the starting lineup. The Grizzlies front office is using this season to see if Morant and Jackson will sink or swim without the help of one of the best big men in the NBA.

Morant and Jackson will be forced to be more aggressive, take on more scoring duties and become leading voices on the team at their position— Morant for the guards and Jackson for the big men.

A return to the Play-In would be a welcomed surprise because it would mean some players stepped up and elevated their game to keep the Memphis Grizzlies rolling.
