Ja Morant, NFL Comparison No. 1: Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill

To be honest, I’m putting Tyreek Hill on this list because he was the first player to pop into my head when I was thinking about NFL comparisons to Ja Morant. On paper, the two are vastly different in quite a few ways.

For starters, Morant is five inches taller than Hill and weighs ten pounds fewer than the Chiefs’ wide receiver. If you stook the two next to each other, you’d think I’m insane for comparing them to one another. Still, we’re talking about two different sports here, so allow me to explain.

Both of these guys have a very distinct characteristic that is very specific to them — their freakish athleticism. On any given play, Tyreek Hill can use his speed to simply sprint past anybody in his way. Having run a 4.29 40-yard dash, there isn’t a single player in the National Football League on the defensive side of the ball who can keep up.

The same goes for Morant, who could be the fastest player in the NBA. Whether it’s in transition or in isolation, Morant could zip past his defender on virtually any play. If he wants to be, he can be completely unguardable.

Still, like Tyreek Hill, Ja Morant has a handful of strong characteristics outside of his speed. Morant has his vision and passing ability, while Tyreek Hill has great hands and durability, which separate him from the rest of the hyper-athletes in the NFL.
