Memphis Grizzlies: Who is the Ja Morant of the National Football League?

Ja Morant, NFL Comparison No. 2: Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones

Physically, this comparison makes a bit more sense than the last. Ja Morant and Julio Jones are both 6’3″. In the NBA, that’s a pretty average height at the point guard position for Morant, while Julio Jones is considered a freak of nature in the NFL.

Still, if you were to add 45 pounds of muscle mass to Ja Morant, what would separate these two?

There’s no doubt that Morant would, at the very least, have comparable speed to Jones, though it’s impossible to say whether or not he would have the same pass-catching abilities. That said, we have seen Morant rise up and catch a ball. Here’s an example of that.

As things stand, this may be the best comparison we’re going to get. If you put Ja Morant in the NFL, his ceiling would be a Julio Jones-type player. Thankfully, Morant is in the NBA, meaning his bones will (more likely) stay intact for the next 15 years.

When you’re looking at NFL players physically, you will not find a more apples-to-apples comparison than these two guys.
