Even though it was an action-packed offseason for the Memphis Grizzlies, fans will be eager to get some training camp action in the month leading up to the NBA season. It’s been a long, grueling offseason but it’s finally coming to an end.

Training camp brings lots of excitement to the NBA world, especially for teams that underwent a handful of offseason changes. Sound familiar?

Even though the core of the Grizzlies’ roster stayed intact, Memphis made a league-high six trades, including deals that shipped Jonas Valanciunas to New Orleans, brought in Steven Adams, sent off Grayson Allen, and a handful more.

Today, I’m going to be going over three Memphis Grizzlies with the most to prove in training camp this year.

Player No. 1: Memphis Grizzlies wing Ziaire Williams

I thought I’d get the most obvious one out of the way first. In fact, Ziaire Williams could almost be considered an honorable mention on this list, as he may have more job security on this team than anybody not named Ja Morant.

That’s the bright side for Williams — as a player who is barely 20 years old in the NBA, you’re going to get a long leash. This is only compounded by the fact that Memphis traded away Jonas Valanciunas and started an offseason frenzy just to acquire the rookie wing at the 10th spot in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Still, Williams has a lot to prove at the NBA level. Memphis went out on a limb to pick him up, even if there were some red flags in college. Williams may be given time to settle in, but he’s going to have to start turning some heads in training camp. At the very least, we’d like to see some flashes of brilliance.
