The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the most mysterious teams in the league as of late. The Grizz front office seems intent on making trade-after-trade, even if the end goal is completely unknown to Memphis fans.

As a result, there are a lot of question marks heading into training camp.

These aren’t necessarily bad question marks though. For example, the Grizzlies added depth at the backup point guard spot by bringing Kris Dunn on board. At the center position, they downgraded offensively but may have a better defensive player in Steven Adams over Jonas Valanciunas. An already-packed wing position is now shoulder-to-shoulder in the Grizzlies locker room.

There’s a lot going on and we won’t have any real answers until training camp begins, which just so happens to be the day that this article is being published. Here are the three biggest storylines to keep an eye on in 2021.

Memphis Grizzlies Training Camp Storyline No. 1: Which new players will fit on the Grizzlies’ roster?

The Memphis Grizzlies, as mentioned, have an established roster full of new role players. The Grizzlies have brought in seven brand-new players this offseason. Here’s the list.

  • Steven Adams, Jarrett Culver, Kris Dunn, Sam Merrill, Yves Pons, Ziaire Williams, Santi Aldama

As things stand, there’s no guarantee that every single player listed will be on the roster. We can have more confidence in these guys than we did in those who didn’t get a physical, like Patrick Beverley and Rajon Rondo, but with this team seemingly stockpiling assets, it’s impossible to jump to any accurate conclusions right now.

The Grizzlies still have to cut or trade one more player before the NBA season begins, as they’re above the league’s player limit.

Training camp will give fans, coaches, and players a better idea of what their team looks like.
