The Memphis Grizzlies are set to kick off their 2021 Preseason slate of games

The time is finally here— after a long, eventful offseason, the first Memphis Grizzlies preseason game is here. A lot has happened in the 125 days since the last time Ja Morant and the rest of the Grizzlies starters suited up for a Grizzlies basketball game.

There are tons of storylines to follow during the preseason, including how the fringe players perform, what the rookies look like against veteran players, and the chance to see which players have added new moves to their offensive games.

Let’s dive into three reasons you should be hyped for the Grizzlies preseason opener.

3. It’s our first look at all the new faces on the Memphis Grizzlies roster

This initial preseason game is our first look at all the new players on the Grizzlies roster. I’m curious to see how does newcomer Steven Adams looks with Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson. Will he be doing a lot of pick-and-rolls? Are we going to see him catch lobs from Ja? Will he be cleaning up after Jaren’s three-point attempts? Another great reason to tune in to this first Grizzlies preseason game is to see how Yves Pons, Sam Merril, and Kris Dunn look with some of the starters and rotation players. We’ll get our first glimpse of whether or not they have what it takes to make this team.
