The 2021–22 annual NBA GM Survey results show that executives around the league believe the Memphis Grizzlies are well prepared to compete now and in the future.

One of the big questions asked in the survey was which player is most likely to have a breakout season in 2021–22?

The Grizzlies have not one but two players mentioned as frequent answers to this question posited to league executives.

These two Memphis Grizzlies players were mentioned by NBA GMs as being primed for big breakout seasons

Jaren Jackson topped the list, garnering 17% of the vote— making him the favorite out of all NBA players to make a big leap forward in production this upcoming season.

The survey also has Ja Morant tied for fourth with 7% of the vote as the NBA player primed for a breakout this season.

The GMs were also asked who has the most promising young core— The Memphis Grizzlies were tied for the third most frequent response with 7%. The top responses in this category were the Atlanta Hawks and the Houston Rockets.

Another question asked to the GMs is who they think is the most athletic player in the NBA. Our very own Ja Morant finished fifth among GM’s will answer this question, garnering 10% of the vote. Topping the list this year is Morant’s friendly rival, Zion Williamson.

The survey also asked who the most improved team will be in 2021–22 and who is going to be the most fun team to watch this season.

While the Memphis Grizzlies did not finish in the top five in these two categories, they did receive votes from some NBA GMs — just not enough to place in the top five.

Finally, Morant was the second most frequent answer when GMs were asked which player is fastest with the ball, garnering 24% of the vote. Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox finished first with 59% of the vote.

So, to recap: Ja Morant is one of the fastest players in the NBA and is primed for a big breakout year. Jaren Jackson is also primed for a big breakout year. The Grizzlies have one of the best young cores in the NBA and could be one of the most improved teams during the 2021-22 season.

dark. Next. Will a benched Grizzlies player soon be traded?

If Jaren Jackson Jr. has a big breakout season and Ja Morant takes that All-Star leap forward, then the Grizzlies have a chance to fulfill some of these predictions been made by league executives.
