Reason No. 3: Memphis Grizzlies Scheduling

After the Grizzlies opened the season at home against an underrated Cleveland Cavaliers team, they embarked on a weeklong west coast road trip that included two back-to-backs against four teams that all have playoff aspirations.

They overcame a 19-point deficit against Golden State to exceed expectations and split the road trip to only be rewarded by coming home and playing a hot Miami Heat team.

The Heat shot 56.8% from three going 21/37 and handled the Grizz easily.

While the bruising loss was not how they wanted to end the month, if you had told the average Grizz fan that after the hellish scheduling to open the season that the team would be 3-3 most would have taken that in a heartbeat.

The bad news is that the league is GOOD right now and almost every team is competitive. The good news is that the Grizzlies are GOOD and have plenty of pieces to have a great season including fulfilling their own goals of making the playoffs. The best news is that the Grizzlies are not the kind of team that settles. They may have a goal of making the playoffs, but they want to win a championship.

Most would say that they do not have all of the pieces they would need to win a championship and that they are over-ambitious but if they can get in the playoffs I would not count out Ja Morant against anybody. So then the question becomes where do they go from here?

The NBA season is by no means a sprint and the marathon requires a consistency that the Grizzlies have yet to show under the new regime. The Grizzlies have had a good start to the season but during the month of November, they play fifteen games against fifteen teams they can and need to be able to beat if they want to take the next step.

They most likely will not go 15-0 but one of the best parts of being a Grizzlies fan is they are going to come expecting to.
