Memphis Grizzlies: 3 trades to help get the team back on track
The Memphis Grizzlies could find a trade partner in the rebuilding Detroit Pistons.
The 3-9 Pistons are clearly building around Cade Cunningham and would probably entertain offers to shed long-term or expensive contracts in search of draft picks and/or prospects.
The Grizzlies would love to have prized, versatile point-forward Jerami Grant to solidify their starting lineup.
The Grizzlies could send the expiring contract of Kyle Anderson and young up-and-comer De’Anthony Melton and picks to swing a trade for Grant.
Grant could immediately slide into the small forward or power forward spot and allow Jaren Jackson, Jr. to become the starting center.
Grant averages 18.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game this season. He’s very active on defense, recording at least one steal and one block in six games this season— something that any team would love to have.
Grant has committed three or more fouls in just three games this season. The Grizzlies’ Jackson has committed three or more fouls in 10 games this season, making it hard to keep him on the floor.
Grant can knock down threes when called upon (35% this season) and would be a critical source of offense in the fourth quarter when Ja Morant gets doubled and has to pass.
He’d likely be the team’s second or third-leading scorer — something well worth investigating.
