The Memphis Grizzlies‘ rough stretch, which began a couple of weeks ago, has only become rougher in recent games. Memphis went from a 5-3 team with back-to-back wins over a strong Denver Nuggets squad to a team that handed the Pelicans their second win in 14 games in a hurry.

The bounce-back will have to wait.

The Grizzlies will get another chance to get back on track against the only team in the entire league that is worse than the New Orleans Pelicans. I’m talking about a home matchup against the 1-12 Houston Rockets.

Can the Memphis Grizzlies bounce back in a game that they have no business losing? Our contributors weigh in.

Jack Williams (Site Expert): I almost want to pick the Grizz to lose this one to spite Taylor Jenkins, but this Memphis rough streak has to end at some point — or so I hope. The Grizzlies are better than the rockets in virtually every way, so a loss here would be fuel for the #FireJenkins bandwagon. We’re approaching the point in every season where I genuinely have no idea what is going to happen in this game. Logically, the Grizz would win by a large margin, so that’s my prediction here. I’m giving Ja Morant a big game against the worst fast break defense in the league.

Jacob Ellerbee: There are no sure-fire things this season with the Grizz. This team has somehow managed to beat the best team in the NBA (Golden State) and lose to the worst (New Orleans). Here’s hoping Brooks can find his rhythm now that he’s re-entered the starting lineup. I’ll take the Grizz in a close one:

Memphis Grizzlies 117, Houston Rockets 112

Noah Hancock: If the Grizz ever needed a pick-me-up game it is this one. The rockets are sitting at 1-12 on the year, and let’s face it, they are not good at basketball. As the young Grizzlies team has faced some shooting trouble the past few games, this game should help them regain their confidence in themselves as they run away with an easy win. The Grizzlies will make quick work tonight of Houston at home to bring their record back to .500. I think Ja scores 40+ points tonight, yes I said it, and I am not taking it back.
