The Memphis Grizzlies had a rough patch at the end of November, losing three of their past five games. Right smack dab in the middle of that stretch was a brutal home loss against the Toronto Raptors, an overwhelmingly beatable team. That game finished with a 13-point losing margin for Memphis.

The Grizzlies will get an opportunity for revenge away from home without their starting point guard in Ja Morant. Morant will be out for “at least a couple of weeks” with a knee injury. Thankfully, he’ll be back in due time.

On the season, the Raptors are 9-12 and sit at 12th place in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors have lost seven of their last ten and have one of the worst home records in the entire league, making this seem like a winnable game for a Morant-less Grizz team.

Can the Memphis Grizzlies get revenge against the Raptors away from home? Our contributors weigh in.

Jack Williams (Site Expert): I always hate picking against the Grizzlies, but without Ja Morant around, I don’t feel as bad. This Grizz team has given me no reason to believe that they can build off of momentum and as a result, I have them losing against a healthier Raptors team, even if Toronto’s record is less-than-desirable. Last time around, Morant was the team’s leading scorer with 23 points — hopefully, Dillon Brooks can step into that role. I don’t think Memphis will be able to score enough points.

Jacob Ellerbee: The Memphis Grizzlies are looking to avenge the Nov. 24 loss to the Raptors. It’ll be tough to compete against such a disciplined team without Ja Morant. The Grizz had no problem fending off Sacramento in their first full game without Ja, but this will be a totally different situation.
