Duds in win vs Golden State

Two players struggled mightily against the Warriors— Desmond Bane and D’Anthony Melton. Let’s take a look at how they fared.

Desmond Bane

Entering the game, Bane had been on an incredible hot streak, scoring 20 or more points in three out of the previous four games. Against Golden State, Bane mustered just 11 points. He shot 3-14 from the field and 3-8 from beyond the arc. He just couldn’t get anything to fall.

His 21.4% shooting from the field was his second worst of the season. Fortunately, the Grizzlies were able to survive with just a minimal contribution from Bane.

De’Anthony Melton

Melton is still trying to find his way after returning from being in Health & Safety Protocols. He made his return Jan. 6 against Detroit and has failed to record more than 8 points in the four games in which he’s appeared.

Against the Warriors, Melton played just 12 minutes— his fewest all season. He registered just 2 points on 1-6 shooting from the field. He had four fouls during the game, which limited his ability to contribute.
