Duds in win vs Minnesota

The chief problem for the Grizzlies against the Wolves surrounded their inability to do the little things. They could not get their fundamentals under control.

Grizzlies’ free-throw shooting

Memphis struggled at the free-throw line tonight. As a team, the Grizzlies left 9 points on the board with missed free throws. They shot 24-35 from the free throw line for a 68.6%.

But, upon closer look, most of the misses came from Jaren Jackson (who was 6-10 from the line) and Xavier Tillman (0-4).  The team has to get better on the free-throw line, especially once the team gets into post-season play.

Grizzlies’ three-point shooting

Memphis struggled from beyond the arc, knocking down just 8 of their 32 attempts (25%). The Grizzlies inability to hit three-pointers was exacerbated by Minnesota’s ability to hit 15 from deep.

The Wolves closed off the driving lanes for Ja Morant, who instead managed to impact the game by dishing out a game-high nine assists. However, he settled for shooting threes and struggled. He was 0-7 from beyond the arc.

Bane couldn’t find his rhythm either, making just two of his eight attempts from three.
