The Memphis Grizzlies could trade for a sharp-shooter

There have been whispers around the league that the Clippers may opt to tank and try to follow a path set forth by Golden State by punting on the season, according to Bleacher Report.

The idea would be to rest and reserve Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, lose as many games a s possible to get a high draft pick and pair that young player with their stars or package the draft pick to get a better supporting cast for the George and Leonard next season.

If that’s the case, Luke Kennard could become available.

Would creating cap space interest the Clippers? If so, the Memphis Grizzlies may be interested in trading for sharp-shooting guard Luke Kennard.

An expiring Kyle Anderson, plus Tyrell Terry and some second round picks might do the trick. The Clippers would create cap space for the offseason and Memphis would have one of the best shooters in the NBA.

The 6’5″ Duke alum is averaging 11.7 ppg this season. He’s shooting 43.2% from the field and 44.1% from three. He takes close to seven three-point attempts per game, making nearly half of them.

He would be a tremendous asset come playoff time when the Grizzlies could be up against prolific shooting teams like Golden State, Phoenix and Utah.
