Memphis Grizzlies: Studs and Duds from loss to Dallas Mavericks

The Memphis Grizzlies suffer their first loss of 2022 after being defeated by the Dallas Mavericks to a score of 112-85. Unfortunately, the 11 game win streak comes to an end but the memories and moments will continue to live on.

The major storyline was the offensive struggles that the Grizzlies went through during the second half. It wasn’t much of Dallas’ defence but more so Memphis not being able to convert on shots they usually make. Dallas now leads the season series 2-0 with the third and final matchup next week on Jan. 23. Revenge will be on the mind of the Grizzlies and a statement game is nearly a guarantee.

Before jumping to the next time these two teams play, let’s look at the duds and studs from the game. Firstly, some rightfully deserved recognition to the Mavericks.

Luka Magic in full effect

Luka Doncic came into FedEx Forum and showed why he is revered as one of the best young players in the NBA. Grizzlies fans are familiar with the star’s abilities as he hit a game-winner in Memphis just a season ago.

Doncic tallied a triple-double finishing with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Much deserved credit to one of the league’s best.
