Memphis Grizzlies: Studs and Duds from loss to Dallas Mavericks

Memphis Grizzlies studs in loss to Dallas Mavericks
Ja Morant
Considering how lopsided the score was, it’s scary to think just how bad it could’ve been without Ja. The only person to get any sort of offence on a consistent basis was Morant, despite the entire Mavericks defence focusing on him.
By no means did he have a perfect game as he did rack up eight turnovers as well. But he finished with a team-high 19 points along with eight assists, which were much needed to keep the Grizzlies in this game. It can be argued that Ja should’ve played more minutes since the Mavericks went on their run while he was on the bench.
Kyle Anderson
The only player to provide any sort of life off the bench was none other than Mr. Reliable, Kyle Anderson. The veteran forward finished with 12 points and five rebounds on 40 percent shooting from the field. For the players that played more than 15 minutes, Anderson was among Ja with the best plus/minus, albeit still in the negatives at -6.
His timely shots helped ease the pain in the second half when oil began to leak. Anderson isn’t a natural scorer, yet he was still able to get his shot and keep the team at bay while Ja was on the bench for the most part.
This was an entire off-night for the entire team and it’s more than safe to say that Memphis will come out with much more assertiveness in their next game.
The Memphis Grizzlies will play the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 17 at 2:30 PM C.T
