Memphis Grizzlies duds vs Dallas Mavericks

Jaren Jackson Jr.

Jaren Jackson Jr. was easily the most disappointing player on the Memphis Grizzlies in this game. Although he has played great basketball as of late, he finished with just 10 points on 4-17 shooting from the field.

He was never able to find his groove and make any sort of impact on this game. He tied for a plus/minus of -13 along with Steven Adams and didn’t look like his usual self.

That is unacceptable from a second option, especially considering his matchup, Kristaps Porzingis, outplayed him with 15 points and eight rebounds. Ja Morant can only do so much for the Grizzlies, this team will only go as far as Jackson Jr. takes them, and if he has games like this, Memphis won’t go too far.

Ziaire Williams

At first glance, it may seem that Ziaire Williams had a decent game albeit his scoring totals weren’t too bad. However, his efficiency was horrendous and his lack of experience really showed.

Williams finished with nine points on 30 percent shooting from the field. Not only did he struggle on offense but he couldn’t play sound defense committing five fouls.

His plus/minus was the worst on the team with -16. Games like this help build young players for better days but these are performances that the Williams needs to avoid to continue being a solid contributor for Memphis.
