Memphis Grizzlies studs vs Dallas Mavericks

Ja Morant

The only bright spot from this game is Ja Morant. Without him, the Grizzlies would have been on the other end of an embarrassing loss. His energy and determination are traits that set the tone for this team and although the rest of the roster didn’t follow through in this game, it creates a standard for following games.

The dark horse MVP candidate finished with a team-high 35 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. He was the only starter to finish in double figures in this game. Matter of fact, he had more points than the other four starters combined (33 to 25).

Praise for this young man seems nonstop but it’s justified with just how great he has been for this team this season.

De’Anthony Melton

Out of the three players to score in double figures for Memphis, De’Anthony Melton was one of them. Melton finished with 12 points on 5-15 shooting from the field. Other than Morant, he seemed to be the only other player on the team that was aggressive when looking for their shot.

He’s been great off the bench as a member of the second unit, but tonight he was the second-best player for the boys in navy.
