Memphis Grizzlies Studs in loss vs Sixers
Desmond Bane
Desmond Bane was a human flamethrower finishing with a career-high of 34 points. He was sensational for Memphis and provided the Grizzlies with the necessary firepower alongside Ja Morant, matching Philadelphia’s duo of Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris.
Bane was the only player to provide a threat from beyond the arc for Memphis. Out of the six three-pointers made by the team, five of those were made by Bane, going 5-5. To go along with his 34 points he finished with seven rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, this performance is only a glimpse of the capabilities Bane has as an NBA player. His potential is through the roof and is going to be a serious problem in only a matter of time.
Ja Morant
Make it seven-straight games with 30+ points for Ja Morant. He is playing on another level that has never been done before by a player in a Memphis Grizzlies jersey.
The All-Star starter finished with 37 points, five assists, and five rebounds on 15-30 shooting from the field. He had huge plays down the stretch including an acrobatic and-one opportunity to tie the game in the clutch, however was unable to give Memphis the lead.
Despite such a great performance from Morant, one of the biggest flaws from this game was his turnovers. Morant coughed up the ball nine times which is never ideal for your primary ball handler. There’s only so much one person can do and Ja Morant gave his all in the attempt to win the Memphis Grizzlies this game.
