Memphis Grizzlies Duds in win against Knicks

Desmond Bane

By no means was Desmond Bane terrible, but his performance was far from amazing. His standard of play has been set to such a high bar that inefficient nights like this are more than just uncharacteristic.

The second-year guard finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and two steals, with terrible inefficiencies of 4-18. Shooting 22 percent from the field is nothing close to ideal, and it was very surprising considering many of his opportunities were shots he typically makes.

Being the player that he is, it’s safe to say he will bounce back greatly next time he steps on the court.

Free-throw shooting

This hasn’t been something new with this team. It isn’t as glaring since they won but free-throw shooting has been a problem.

Memphis struggled yet again from the free-throw line going 16-23 from the foul line. In percentages that’s 70 percent from the charity stripe, which is not going to cut it against elite teams.

Ja Morant had the most misses from the free-throw line with three, it’ll be a developing story to see how he progresses in this category going into the All-Star break.
