Grizzlies vs Magic Prediction
The Grizzlies have pretty much become an auto-bet for me. With Ja Morant’s arrival to the NBA’s elite, Memphis has a top-10 offense and defense on the season and is 15-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last 20 games, including 4-1 over their last five.
They’ll face a Magic team today that covered the spread in three of their last four, but the poor competition they’ve played gives us value with this line today. They beat two bad teams in the Pacers and Pistons and rank just 28th in the league in net rating. Asking Cole Anthony to guard Morant is using scotch tape to fix a hole in your pipes. It might work for a few minutes, but it won’t be long before it’s raining buckets everywhere in Orlando.
The Magic are just 7-16 ATS at home while the Grizzlies are 18-9 on the road. I fully expect Memphis to overwhelm Orlando. Even if it’s close throughout the game, the Grizzlies should be able to pull away in the 4th quarter as Morant takes over and gets the cover.
