Duds from Memphis Grizzlies win vs Clippers

De’Anthony Melton

One of the best bench players in the NBA resides in Memphis and that is De’Anthony Melton. However, his performance on Tuesday night wasn’t very reminent of someone worthy of that discussion.

Although no players except for Jarrett Culver—who only played five minutes—had a negative plus/minus, Melton was no where up to the standards he usually plays at.

Melton finished with just six points on 2-10 shooting from the field. From the player who is your floor general with Ja Morant off the floor, such low efficiency won’t cut it. Everyone surrounding the Grizzlies organization knows how good Melton is but he didn’t play close to his skill level against the Clippers.

Desmond Bane

This now marks back-to-back subpar games for Desmond Bane. What seemed like it would be a promising stretch after notching a career-high 34 points, in the three games after he has scored double-digit points once.

The second-year guard finished with just five points and four assists while going 0-5 from three. Despite this poor performance, Bane was still a positive on the court with a plus/minus of +15.

However, just like Melton, Bane is expected to play to a certain standard and definitely hasn’t reached it in the past two games.
