Could the Grizzlies make a bid for Eric Gordon?

Eric Gordon would deliver some much needed bench scoring and three-point shooting for the Grizzlies, if the team can formulate an attractive offer for the rebuilding Houston Rockets.

Gordon, 33, doesn’t really fit the timeline of this team, but brings with him a ton of playoff experience and lethal three-point shooting. He’s knocking down a near-career high 42.7% of his attempts from beyond the arc.

The team should be leery about overspending for the aging shooter, but if the team can get him for Kyle Anderson and some filler, it’s worth considering.

The Grizzlies would immediately bolster one of the weakest facets in their flashy offense: three-point shooting.

It’s rumored that Gordon has been available for a long time now. Either the Rockets are waiting for an over-spend or no one has been able to offer much of anything. It’s a fine line to walk and if the Grizzlies can do it, it’s a swing worth taking.

The Grizzlies defense is strong enough to make-up for any short-comings that Gordon may have when he’s in the game. In other words, his contributions on offense would more than make up for his short comings on defense.
