Going in to tonight, we knew Memphis Grizzlies stud point guard Ja Morant would be starting in his first ever NBA All-Star Game, we just didn’t know which team he’d be on or who he’d be playing with.
Now that the school-yard style draft has concluded we have the full line-ups for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game.
Ja Morant was the second pick made by Kevin Durant in the All-Star Game Draft and the fourth overall. Here’s how the first four picks went down.
LeBron James had the first overall pick and chose Giannis Antetokounmpo. Durant picked second and chose Joel Embiid. James then chose Stephen Curry with the third overall choice. Morant was chosen next.
Who will join Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant on Team KD in the All-Star Game?
Joining the Memphis Grizzlies superstar will be the aforementioned Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum (starting in place of the injured Durant), Trae Young and Andrew Wiggins.
Embiid and Morant are going to be incredibly fun to watch— the thought of the alley-oops, crazy passes and flair will be unmatched by any other duo in the game.
Morant will have the potential to play with some other talented players when they come off the bench. Here’s how Team KD looks on the bench:
Devin Booker
Karl Anthony Towns
Zach LaVine
Dejounte Murray
Khris Middleton
LaMelo Ball
Rudy Gobert
Hopefully Morant gets an opportunity to play with all of his new All-Star teammates. He’ll need to be careful not to get too chummy with the likes of Booker, Towns or Gobert, as he very well may see them again come playoff time.
If the Grizzlies are able to move past the first round, they may encounter the Suns, Timberwolves or Jazz.
The NBA All-Star Game is set for Feb. 20 at 7 PM CT on TNT
