Grizzlies have back-to-back games that could impact playoff seeding

Two of the final four games for Memphis will come against teams that’ll be in the playoffs.

April 5: Memphis Grizzlies at Utah Jazz

Expect a playoff-like atmosphere in Salt Lake City when the Grizzlies enter Vivint Arena in one of the final games of the regular season.

A final rematch from the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs will likely have a lot of emotions and tempers flaring.

Right now Memphis is the projected three-seed and Utah claiming the fourth seed. A lot can happen between now and then, but this game may have huge implications on who gets the No. 3 seed.

Memphis will win the season series against Utah no matter what happens (2-0 in a three-game regular season series), but it’ll still give the team valuable data against a playoff-tested team.

April 7: Memphis Grizzlies at Denver Nuggets

This game could be a preview of the first round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs. If things hold as they currently stand, the No. 3 Grizzlies would be suiting up to face the No. 6 Nuggets.

That’s an absolutely scary notion, since Denver boasts the reigning 2020-21 NBA MVP in Nikola Jokic. By the time this game rolls around, Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray could both be back in action.

If Denver has been this good without them, how good will they be when their second and third bests players return to action?

This game is an opportunity to get a free look at answering some of those questions in preparation for a very difficult hypothetical first round match-up in the playoffs.
