Duds from Memphis Grizzlies vs Houston Rockets March 20 matchup

We’re taking a look at some of the players who under performed in this Southwest Division rivalry game.

Jalen Green, Houston Rockets

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft struggled mightily against the Grizzlies today, mustering just 8 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist in the loss to Memphis.

Green just couldn’t find his shot, going 3 of 13 from the field in 27 minutes of action. Green is one of the top scoring rookies this season in the NBA, so tonight was definitely an outlier in an otherwise really great rookie campaign.

Green has been playing really well all season long

Garrison Matthews, Houston Rockets

The former Lipscomb standout also struggled today. Garrison Matthews snapped a five game streak of making at least one three pointer.

His two points scored against Memphis was his worst since March 7 when he had zero points and no made threes.

Matthews logged 18 minutes, but came really close to having himself a Tony Snell-esque performance. Matthews finished with 0 rebounds, 0 blocks, 0 stales, 0 turnovers, 0 field goals, 0 threes, 2 assists and 2 points.
