Duds in Memphis Grizzlies huge win over Brooklyn Nets March 23

Let’s take a look at some of the players that struggled in this inter-conference matchup.

Dillon Brooks, Memphis Grizzlies

Dillon Brooks has settled back into the Dillon Brooks of old. The volume shooter is back to frustrate you to no end.

Brooks took 14 shots from the field in the first half, for a total of 16 points. To put that into perspective, one of the best players on the planet Kevin Durant shot the ball just 12 times in the first half.

The former Oregon product launched 21 field goal attempts and scored just 21 points.

Patty Mills, Brooklyn Nets

One of the best three-point shooters in the NBA, Patty Mills, was essentially a non-factor in this game.

25 minutes, 0 points, 0 assists, 0 blocks, 0 steals, 1 rebound and 2 fouls. What was he doing out there for all those minutes? The Nets are going to need him to get out of whatever slump he’s in currently.

Ziaire Williams, Memphis Grizzlies

The rookie out of Stanford has been so efficient and effective during the second half of the regular season. Except tonight, he only saw the floor for seven minutes of action.

No word on why he played so little. It’s not like anyone else was slowing the scoring of Durant or Irving. So, it doesn’t seem like poor defense was what put him on the bench. The last time Z-Will was scoreless was Feb. 28 vs the San Antonio Spurs.
