5 reasons why the Memphis Grizzlies can win an NBA Championship this season
The Memphis Grizzlies are locked in for the final handful of games remaining in the 2021-22 regular season. The team has been playing fantastic just about all season long, especially in games without All-Star Ja Morant.
While undermanned against the Phoenix Suns April 1, they pulled off a shocking upset, improving to 20-2 without Ja Morant and bringing their overall record to 55-23 this season.
The team with the second-best record in the NBA has its sights set on improving from last year’s finish of being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs against the Utah Jazz (4-1).
This season, as the second seed, the team will have home-court advantage and one of the league’s most effective and efficient offenses.
This team can make a deep playoff run and even win the NBA championship. It’s not as far-fetched of a possibility as you might think.
This Memphis Grizzlies squad can win the NBA Championship this season. Here are five reasons why they’ll become 2021-22 champs.
No 5. The Memphis Grizzlies have the second-best record in the NBA this season
The Grizzlies, at 55-23 have the second-best record in the entire NBA— only the Phoenix Suns have a better record at 62-15.
The Maimi Heat have the third-best record at 50-28, a full five games behind the Grizzlies for the distinction of being in second place.
It’s no accident that Memphis is in this position. They’re currently the hottest team in the NBA, having won seven consecutive games and 11 of their past 12.
The Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are the next closest teams that are firing on all cylinders, having won five consecutive games each. They are both, however, in the Eastern Conference and won’t encounter Memphis again until a hypothetical NBA Finals matchup.
