Memphis Grizzlies starting point guard Ja Morant has been sidelined for the past couple of weeks with a knee injury.

He’s been putting in the work to rehab and get back into game shape, according to Mark Giannoto of the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Giannoto relayed comments made by Head Coach Taylor Jenkins on April 4, saying that Morant participated in practice, but hasn’t done full-contact work.

With all that hard work he’s putting in, he’s still finding some time to enjoy all the perks and benefits of being a bonafide NBA superstar.

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant dropped $55,000 during shopping spree

According to TMZ Sports, Ja Morant spent some time with rapper Gunna at an Atlanta-area jewelry store, drinking shots of Don Julio and dropping some major cash on some new pieces.

Bleacher Report noted that Morant got a nice haul for $55,000. The third-year player out of Murray State bought a “14MM Miami Cuban bracelet, three other diamond bracelets, and two diamond rings,” according to the outlet. He also went home with a “leather Icebox travel case” to keep everything looking pristine.

Morant is always rocking some fresh ice on the sidelines, so it’s no surprise to see him indulging in quality jewelry.

Don’t think fame and fortune are getting to the Grizzlies superstar. He was recently spotted handing out replica jerseys and autographs to some young Steph Curry fans at FedEx Forum.

The Grizzlies hope to get Morant back for the final game or two of the regular season for a dress rehearsal before the NBA Playoffs begin April 16.

Memphis has clinched the No. 2 seed and will likely face the winner of No. 7 Minnesota Timberwolves vs No. 8 Los Angeles Clippers. Those are the two most likely teams that will square off in one of two Western Conference Play-In games.
