The Memphis Grizzlies put their seven-game winning streak on the line when they traveled to Salt Lake City to face the floundering Utah Jazz.

Utah entered the game having lost six of their last seven games and Memphis entered having won 11 of their last 12 games.

One of these streaks had to come to an end and unfortunately for Grizzlies fans, the game ended in Utah’s favor. The Jazz pulled out the win 121-115 in overtime.

Memphis had no answer for All-Star Rudy Gobert, who finished the game with 22 points and 21 rebounds.

Former Grizzlies star Mike Conley ended up with 13 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds in the game, and former Grizzlies star Rudy Gay finished with just 2 points and a rebound in 13 minutes of action.

The Grizzlies fall to 55-24 and Utah improves to 47-32 on the year. Memphis will next travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets April 7 at 8 p.m.

Here are five takeaways from the tough loss against the Jazz.

No 5. Jaren Jackson Jr. breaks a long-standing Memphis Grizzlies record

Jaren Jackson Jr. has emerged as one of the premier defensive threats in the NBA this season. He’s been the league leader in total blocks (172) and blocks per game (2.3 bpg) for much of the second half of the season.

Against the Jazz, Jackson broke the franchise record for most blocks in a single season. The record was previously set at 169 blocks by Pau Gasol in the 2001-02 season.

Jackson will have a few more games to add to his record and solidify his new record for years to come.
