Tyus Jones reminded the Memphis Grizzlies why he’s top offseason priority

Tyus Jones has been crushing it as the team’s starting point guard while Ja Morant has been recovering. In fact, his play has mirrored that of some of the best starting point guards on playoff teams.

Prior to the game against Denver, Jones was averaging 15.6 PPG, 7 APG, and 3.1 RPG since March 20 (the first game after Morant’s injury).

Jones has been on fire from beyond the arc during the stretch, knocking down 18 of his 34 three-point shot attempts (52.9%).

His excellent play this season has underscored the importance the Grizzlies should place in re-signing him this offseason.

Jones will be a free agent this offseason and will no doubt have plenty of interested suitors after having a career year in several statistical categories and leading the league in assist-to-turnover ratio.

Jones recorded just six turnovers in his eight starts while averaging an astounding 30.1 minutes per game. He’s incredibly efficient and possesses one of the highest basketball IQs in the NBA.
