Memphis Grizzlies: 5 biggest questions heading into Game 2 vs Wolves
The Memphis Grizzlies got their rear ends handed to them in Game 1 of the first-round playoff series vs the Minnesota Timberwolves. There’s no sugar coating it: Memphis played terribly.
The Grizzlies have two full days to get things ironed and and make adjustments before Game 2 on April 19.
Memphis has already surrendered home-court advantage in this series. Going down 0-2 to the Timberwolves would definitely have fans hitting the panic button.
So, we’re taking a look at 5 big questions before Game 2 begins.
Question 1: Have the Memphis Grizzlies shaken off the rust?
The Grizzlies looked flat, out of sync, and just down right sloppy at times in Game 1 vs the Timberwolves.
A big reason for that could be that the starters had only played 96 minutes together prior to the pennultimate regular season game against New Orleans on April 9.
Head Coach Taylor Jenkins and staff opted to bench virtually all key contributors in the season finale against the Boston Celtics.
The only problem with that was a great majority of those players went a week without playing a game. Hindsight is 20/20, but it sure seems these starters could have used as much time as possible to get back in sync.
Hopefully Game 1 was enough of a rehearsal to course correct before it’s too late.
