The Memphis Grizzlies (0-1) look to successfully fend off the Minnesota Timberwolves (1-0) in Game 2 of this first-round playoff series on April 19.

To successfully defend home court, the Grizzlies will need the FedEx Forum and people around town to be excited, impassioned, and ready to help Memphis get its first win of the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

In the days leading up to Game 1, the Grizzlies organization began rolling out the biggest dud of a playoff slogan we’ve ever seen, “MemTHIS.”

It was so bad, people were roasting the organization for creating such a vanilla and milquetoast slogan that had zero ties to the 2021-22 team.

Memphis Grizzlies playoff slogan for Game 2 vs Timberwolves is awesome

Fortunately, the Grizzlies organization righted their wrong and came back with a fantastic logo that embodies the spirit of this team.

“Ain’t No RUNNIN’ in the M” is the slogan for Game 2 of this playoff series and fans are already praising the team.

It harkens back to the fantastic quote given by Ja Morant a couple of months ago when he spoke about the team’s affinity for trash talk.

“There ain’t no running in the M, man. We climb up the chimney. We ain’t ducking no smoke. We’re gonna let everybody know we’re here. We’re gonna play hard, we’re trying to get a win and if you don’t like it? Oh well.”

It’s the perfect choice to rally fans around the cause. It gives a touch of authenticity without being corny or disingenuous. It invokes a player quote just like the infamous Grit & Grind slogan that morphed into an entire cultural mindset for the franchise.

This is the perfect slogan that the players and fans can coalesce around for the remainder of the series and even into the 2022-23 season.

The Grizzlies and the Timberwolves will tip-off at 7:30 PM CT on NBATV and Bally’s Sports Southeast for Game 2 on April 19.

Memphis hopes to avoid falling to 0-2 in the series before heading to Minneapolis for Game 3 and Game 4 of this series.
