The Memphis Grizzlies look to build on their 2-1 series lead, just a day removed from an epic, 26-point comeback win in Game 3.

The Grizzlies are likely to continue playing small and athletic against the Timberwolves, eschewing the services of the traditional big man Steven Adams in lieu of more athletic and multi-faceted players like Brandon Clarke, Xavier Tillman, and Kyle Anderson.

The Grizzlies are going to have to dig deep and find a why to match the chaotic energy of the Timberwolves in the opening quarter, something they’ve failed to do in all three contests. Fortunately, Memphis has been able to dig themselves out of that early deficit in two out of three games.

Let’s take a look at what to expect in Game 4, set for April 22.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Wolves Game 4 predictions

It seems highly likely that we’ll see Head Coach Taylor Jenkins continue to leave Steven Adams on the bench and start either Kyle Anderson again (as he did in Game 3) or call on Brandon Clarke to get things going from the opening jump.

The Grizzlies can’t allow a fortunate break (the Timberwolves imploding in Game 3) to break their focus. They’ll be tempted to come out with swagger and finesse, but they can’t continue to start games with such a lack of energy.

I would love to see a lineup featuring Tyus Jones, Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Brandon Clarke and Jaren Jackson Jr. at some point during the game. Jones, with his steady, veteran hand, can keep the Grizzlies calm under fire and knock down shots if need be.

The Grizzlies need to get their defense going early to set the tone from the start. Whenever Memphis plays from behind, they take too many gambles that have mixed results (i.e. excessive fouling).

If the Grizzlies control the pace of this game and continue to make plays defensively, they’ll come out with a win in Game 4.

Game 4 Prediction: Memphis 111, Minnesota 105
