Memphis Grizzlies vs Wolves Game 6 predictions

With the weight of their entire season hanging over them, the Minnesota Timberwolves will feel immense pressure against the Grizzlies in Game 6. Out of three Game 6 matchups last night, none of the underdogs were successful in forcing a Game 7. That does not bode well for underdog Minnesota.

Memphis, the second-youngest team in the NBA, may have finally gotten their swagger and confidence back after allowing it to fade after being upset at home in Game 1.

That missing confidence and swagger manifested itself in the fourth quarter of Game 5 when All-Star Ja Morant set the FedEx Forum (and subsequently the internet) on fire with an Ian Eagle-coined “Ja-breaker” dunk. The dunk was spectacular and put an exclamation point on Morant’s explosive quarter in which he scored 18 of his 30 points.

Head Coach Taylor Jenkins also seems to have found a small-ball lineup that cannot be matched by the Timberwolves: Tyus Jones, Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, and Brandon Clarke. If those guys get things going early and set the tone, the inexperienced Wolves will begin to flounder and allow Memphis an opening to close out a game that should otherwise be a back-and-forth affair.

Game 4 Prediction: Memphis 109, Minnesota 106
