Who is Memphis Grizzlies Head Coach Taylor Jenkins?

There’s a quote that comes to mind when thinking about Memphis Grizzlies Head Coach Taylor Jenkins.

"“It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.”-Muhammed Ali."

It doesn’t matter what situation he has been faced with, he has shown consistency in controlling what he can control.

The Memphis Grizzlies head coach, Taylor Jenkins, was virtually unknown just three years ago. Even with this season’s success, he is still not nationally well known.

Though not nationally known, Jenkins does not lack pedigree. He started his coaching career with the Austin Toros, the San Antonio Spurs G-League affiliate, whose organization is led by Greg Popovich—arguably the greatest coach ever.

Jenkins then went to the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant to Mike Budenholzer, who happens to be the coach of the reigning NBA champions.

Pedigree will get the job, but it’s up to the coach to keep the job.

In three seasons as the Grizzlies head coach, Jenkins is 128-99, which is incredible considering he took over a rebuilding franchise’s team that was 33-49 in the season before his arrival.

But should we believe in him as a coach solely because he has exceeded low expectations?
