His unique abilities and countless must-see moments are back in the news when the NBA announced nominations for the 2022 NBA Fan Favorite awards.

Ja Morant leads the way with four appearances in the fan-voted awards that act as a sort of Academy Award/individual superlative.

Morant’s dazzling season was historic in many ways and his performance helped the Memphis Grizzlies achieve the second-best record in the NBA during the 2021-22 regular season.

Memphis Grizzlies Ja Morant nominated for 2022 NBA Dunk of the Year

Remember Ja Morant’s dunk over San Antonio’s Jakob Poeltl? It’s up for the best dunk of the year.

Other nominees in this category are Jaylen Brown’s ferocious one-handed dunk over Maxi Kleber, LeBron James’ Statue of Liberty dunk over Kevin Love, Joel Embiid’s one-handed dunk over Jarrett Allen, and Russell Westbrook’s explosive dunk over Rudy Gobert.

Ja Morant and Steven Adams nominated for Favorite Assist

Who could forget Steven Adams’ impression of an NFL quarterback when he launched a full court , hail mary, alley oop to beat the halftime buzzer against San Antonio?

The play was so unbelievable that the NBA uploaded the highlight and added it to a sizzle reel of the “Best Full-Court Buzzer-Beaters in History.”

Other nominees in this category are Lonzo Ball to Zach LaVine, Nikola Jokic to Aaron Gordon, Luka Doncic to Maxi Kleber and Andre Iguodala to Damion Lee.

Ja Morant 52-point night vs Spurs nominated for Favorite Viral Moment

Ja Morant’s 52-point outing against the Spurs, which also produced two of the above nominations, is up for an award in and of itself.

That was a spectacular day for Morant and the entire Memphis Grizzlies franchise.

Other nominations in this category are: Klay Thompson’s triumphant return from a two-year injury, Stephen Curry breaking the all-time 3-Pt record and the NBA 75 Ceremony group photo featured all the living legends from the game we all love.
