Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant has been making the rounds on the awards circuit after a spectacular 2021-22 campaign.

Morant has already taken home the NBA Most Improved Player award, which he subsequently bequeathed to his teammate Desmond Bane.

He also recently took home a couple of 2022 NBA Fan Favorite awards. His Feb. 28 dunk over San Antonio Spurs big man Jakob Poeltl was named the Dunk of the Year.

He was also on the receiving end of the Assist of the Year when Steven Adams heaved a full-court, alley-oop inbound pass to beat the halftime buzzer during the same game.

One of these premiere athletes will be named the 2022 BET Sportsman of the Year award. Here’s how the nominees were determined, according to the network:

The young man from South Carolina has catapulted himself from a small school in Murray State, to having his name dropped in rap songs, appearing in national tv ads, and becoming one of the faces of the NBA.

In just a few short years, Morant has captivated not just Memphis Grizzlies fans, but broken through to become ingrained in pop culture.
