Could the Memphis Grizzlies turn Juan Toscano-Anderson to the Dark Side?

I know what you’re probably thinking, not someone from the Golden State Warriors. But, Juan Toscano-Anderson could fill a need and provide championship perspective for the Grizzlies.

The three-year pro, who just turned 29, can play the two or three position on the wing and give you about 15 minutes per game.

While not excelling at any one thing, JTA’s athleticism and nose for making the right play keep him on the court as sort of a “glue guy.”

JTA could be a gettable free agent after Golden State, the only NBA team he’s known, decided not to extend him a qualifying offer and will allow him to sign with any team as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

The former Marquette product averaged 4.1 PPG, 2.4 RPG, and 1.7 APG in 73 appearances for the Warriors.

Mo Bamba would be a gamble worth taking for the Memphis Grizzlies

The 7’0″ athletic big man would be a really exciting addition to the Grizzlies if they can sign him in a robust open market after the Orlando Magic did not extend him a qualifying offer and allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent.

The former No. 6 overall pick in the 2018 draft has shown real promise in growth in every season he’s been in the league, including developing a solid three-point shot.

The four-year pro put up averages of 10.6 PPG, 8.1 RPG, and 1.2 APG for the Magic. His three-point shooting percentage has gone from 30% in his rookie year to 38.1% last season.

Can you imagine both Jaren Jackson Jr. and Bamba on the court together? Two seven-foot, shot-blocking, three-point threats that would be incredibly difficult for defenses to cover.

Bamba is no sure bet; however, he has the trappings of being a home run hit in the right system and culture.
