Which players will compete for the Memphis Grizzlies in Summer League?

The Memphis Grizzlies announced their roster for the upcoming Salt Lake City Summer League, which is set to take place from July 5 through July 7.

The roster is headlined by a few players from last season’s main roster: Santi Aldama, Xavier Tillman Sr., and Ziaire Williams.

The Grizzlies will be sending all four of their 2022 draftees as well, which will be the first opportunity the newcomers will compete as member of the team.

First-round picks Jake LaRavia and David Roddy along with second-round picks Kennedy Chandler and Vince Williams Jr. will be showing their stuff against the likes of teams assembled by the Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, and Utah Jazz.

The players will be coached by Dave McClure, who has served as an assistant under Head Coach Taylor Jenkins since 2019.

Notably absent from the roster is Killian Tillie, a reserve player who has appeared in just 54 games in his two-year career. Could this spell the end for Tillie and the Grizzlies?

Fans are hoping Williams and Aldama will follow a similar path as Desmond Bane, who used the 2021 Summer League as a launch point for his incredible leap between his rookie and sophomore seasons with the Grizzlies.

The Salt Lake City Summer League games are scheduled to be broadcast on television on ESPN, ESPN2 and NBATV. The Grizzlies Summer League TV schedule is as follows:

  • July 5, 2022 vs Philadelphia 76ers at 6 PM CT on ESPN
  • July 6, 2022 vs Oklahoma City Thunder at 6 PM CT on ESPN2
  • July 7, 2022 vs Utah Jazz at 7 PM CT on NBA TV
