Memphis Grizzlies: 3 potential trades to fill void left by injured Jaren Jackson Jr.

#2: Harrison Barnes
A second player that the Memphis Grizzlies should take a look into trading for is Harrison Barnes. Barnes has been trapped on the Sacramento Kings for the past four seasons after being traded there from the Dallas Mavericks. Since joining the Kings, Barnes has quietly remained a very solid starting forward. Although he began his career primarily as a small forward, as his game has aged, he has very smoothly transitioned into a stretch four role. Over his four seasons in Sacramento, Barnes has shot an astronomical 39.2% from three. This would be an incredible asset off of the bench for the Grizzlies, and Barnes would be the perfect power forward to come off the bench during the playoffs.
A trade that could potentially get Barnes to the Memphis Grizzlies would send Dillon Brooks and Xavier Tillman to the Kings and in return, they would receive Barnes and Terence Davis. This deal would give the Grizzlies a quality veteran player that is comfortable in a starting position. It may be a tough sell to get Barnes to accept a bench role, however, to get out of Sacramento and back onto a contending team, he may do whatever it takes. Barnes has not come off of the bench in a regular-season game since the 2015-2016 season. Once again, Brooks would be a tough loss for the Grizzlies, however, Barnes is more than capable of filling the hole at small forward. While Tillman does have a lot of potential and could possibly grow into being a very quality big, he has not shown that up to this point in Memphis.
Along with Barnes in this deal, the Grizzlies would also land Terence Davis. Davis for the better part of his career has been an above-average three-point shooter, however, last season, he shot a career-low 32.9% from beyond the arc. Excluding last season, Davis is 37.7% from three over his first three seasons. Davis still has some room to grow on the offensive end, however, he is an above-average defender, especially for his size. There is a chance that Davis could benefit from the Grizzlies’ style of offense and get his three-point percentage back on track if he were to be traded to the team.
With Barnes’ versatility to play the three and the four, it would both soften the blow of Jackson Jr. being sidelined, and Brooks being traded.
