Just a short few weeks ago, Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant signed a nearly $200 million contract to keep him a member of this franchise for the next six seasons.
Now, he’s finally found some time to plant his roots and entrench himself into the community even further since being drafted No. 2 overall in 2019 out of Murray State.
Morant announced on his Instagram page that he’s bought himself a swanky new 13,000 sq. ft. estate. That’s not all, he’s also moving his parents and sister in the house he previously purchased, which happens to be right across the street from his new house. In other words, his parents and sister are his new neighbors.
How much does Ja Morant’s new house cost and where is it located?
A company connected to Morant, Mountain Brook Cove Land Trust, has purchased the sprawling 13,000 square-foot estate for $3.05 million, according to a report from the Memphis Business Journal.
Interestingly, the home, which was built in 2008, has previously been owned by the late Lorenzen Wright, former NBA player Monta Ellis, and former Memphis Grizzlies player Kyle Anderson.
Morant’s new home sits on 6.5 acres in the community of Eads, which is about 30 miles away from the FedEx Forum.
According to the Memphis Business Journal, the home is filled with countless amenities.
“The home — located on Mountain Brook Cove in ZIP 38028 — includes seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and three half bathrooms, along with a basketball court and pool on a 6.5-acre property,” according to the MBJ report.
Morant’s parents and sister will be living in an incredibly nice house, too. That home was purchased for $1.334 million back in 2019, according to the MBJ.
Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies are still about a month away before they’ll be reporting for training camp and embarking on the follow-up to a record-setting 2021-22 season.
The Grizzlies will kick off their first preseason game in Milwaukee on Oct. 1 when they take on the Bucks. They’ll begin the 2022-23 regular season at home vs the New York Knicks on Oct. 19 at 6: 30 p.m. on ESPN.
