Will the LA Clippers finally reach their potential and pass the Grizzlies?

Kawhi Leonard and Paul George’s stint in Los Angeles hasn’t exactly been a successful one. However, they will enter next season healthy and with the best supporting cast they’ve had in their time together.

The Clippers’ most important move of the offseason was signing John Wall. He may have played in just 40 games during the last three years, but he did average over 20 points and over 6 assists in those games. Reggie Jackson will probably retain his role in the starting lineup, but John Wall is a perfect complement to the point guard position.

While Wall most likely won’t return to his All-Star form, the Clippers don’t need him to, since they have a ridiculously deep roster. Tyronn Lue will have to choose from a plethora of wing talent (Nikolas Batum, Norman Powell, Robert Covington, Marcus Morris, Terrance Mann, Luke Kennard), which makes them a team that can adjust to all kinds of basketball styles.

Ivica Zubac gives the Clippers a much-needed presence under the rim, but the lack of any other big man could hurt them when the playoffs arrive. Even if that’s the case, their depth and amount of weapons they put out alongside their two superstars will be enough to get them a ton of regular season wins.

If the Clippers can stay healthy and make sense of their roster, then they won’t just get ahead of the Grizzlies in the standings, but be one of the strongest favorites to win the NBA championship.
