Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been making headlines all offseason long. Whether it was signing a new max contract, trash talking with Draymond Green through social media, buying a new multi-million dollar mansion, or taking in a WNBA Finals game, the young superstar has been busy.

But, he found some time to sit down with the Pivot Podcast crew to dive into a variety of topics, most of which were fun and lighthearted.

I’ve gone through and highlighted some of the biggest revelations and tidbits from the nearly hour-long episode in which Morant spoke with hosts Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder— all former NFL players.

First up is one of the funniest sound bites from the entire episode: Ja Morant discussing his no-fear mentality when attacking the basket and going up for a dunk.

Grizzlies star Ja Morant jokes he’d dunk on Jesus if he was in front of the rim

“If Jesus was down there, he gonna have to get it?” Crowder asked Morant.

“Yeah, I say I apologize and pray afterward,” Morant said, causing the hosts to laugh hysterically.

He’s tried to dunk on just about everyone you can think of in the NBA, including nearly pulling off a Vince Carter-over-Fred Weis type of dunk on Kevin Love back in his rookie season.

Morant has put a number of players on posters, perhaps none more emphatic than the “Ja-breaker” dunk he smashed against Malik Beasley and the Minnesota Timberwolves during last season’s playoffs or the poster he created on San Antonio big man Jakob Poeltl during the regular season.
