Memphis Grizzlies and Steven Adams agree to contract extension

It was announced on Saturday that the Memphis Grizzlies would extend Steven Adams on a two-year, $25.2 million contract extension. Many fans and basketball enthusiasts began to speculate about whether this was a good move for the young Memphis Team that is so close to having a championship-contending team.

There are three reasons why the Grizzlies made a great decision in signing an extension for the veteran big man.

1. Steven Adams is the Best Glue Man in the League

If Steven Adams has been anything in his career. It is his ability to mesh with any teammates he has had. His teammates have varied far in playstyles. Some of his most notable teammates include Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Zion Williamson.

All of these players have very different playstyles and tendencies. Every offense and defense has been vastly different as well. For the most part, Steven Adams has been exactly what his team needs when they need it.

Now, with high-flying Ja Morant and shot-blocking stretch-four Jaren Jackson Jr., Steven Adams finds himself on a high-energy, fast-moving team. His ability to mesh and do the dirty work that allows his teammates to shine.
